Enjoy beautiful views of Seattle from the water on this relaxing cruise along the Ballard Locks, connecting Puget Sound, Lake Union and Lake Washington. Watch a parade of sailboats, tugboats and yachts passing through the complex Seattle locks system, and snap photos of the stunning city skyline and surrounding mountains. You'll also pass the floating houseboat community famously featured in the film 'Sleepless in Seattle.'

Your Seattle locks cruise departs from Pier 56 on the Seattle Central Waterfront. After hopping on the boat, cruise out along the Ballard Locks, formally the Hiram M Chittenden Locks, built in 1911 to provide a link for boats between the salt water of Puget Sound and the fresh water of the Ship Canal, which connects to Lake Union and Lake Washington.

Learn about the complex locks system from the live onboard commentary. You'll be treated with views of the stunning Seattle skyline, Elliot Bay, Puget Sound, Lake Union, Lake Washington, the surrounding mountains and a parade of sailboats, motorboats, tugboats, barges and yachts passing through the locks. Watch as the locks' water levels are adjusted to allow their safe passage, and spot the fish ladder, built to allow salmon to pass between the fresh water and salt water.

You'll also cruise past the iconic floating houseboat community that was featured in the movie Sleepless in Seattle. Take advantage of great photo opportunities here. When you disembark the cruise, you'll be taken back to Pier 56 by coach.

No ferry required. Small group whale watching tours on the fastest boats in the region with guaranteed whales. See whales or come again for free.

This Anacortes whale watching tour departs from Skyline Marina and cruises out through the San Juan Islands. Experience nature first hand with knowledgeable captains and naturalist guides, who have advanced degrees in biology, geology, and more. Great pride is taken in this fleet of small, high speed vessels with small groups - never carrying more than 30 passengers. The Blackfish fleet are the fastest in the region: the newest vessel the Blackfish III is the first marine ambulance in Washington state.

On this Anacortes tour you will often pass by local landmarks including Cattle Pass Lighthouse, Lime Kiln Lighthouse, Deception Pass Bridge, Patos Island Lighthouse, and even venture as far as Victoria or Vancouver BC if it means seeing Orca. While traveling through the most beautiful scenery of the Pacific Northwest, search for orcas, humpbacks, grays, and more. You may encounter seals, porpoises, sea lions, otters, and more. Birds abound in our region as well. You will most likely see bald eagles, and frequently see common murres, black oystercatchers, rhinoceros auklets, surf scoters, ancient murrelets, and many diverse marine species. Occasionally you will find tufted puffins and even endangered marbled murrelets. Seasonally, hundreds of other bird species migrate through and overwinter in the Salish Sea.

You are guaranteed whale sightings on tours from April through early September. In 2015 there was a 100% sighting success on over 1400 tours. We have the fastest boats so we can get to where the whales are, from Victoria to Vancouver and everywhere in between.

Cruise in the lap of luxury aboard ‘Candére’ during a 3-hour sunset tour on Lake Union. Glide past floating homes and get a good look at Seattle-area highlights including the Space Needle, Gas Works Park, Husky Stadium, and — on a clear day — Mt. Rainier to the south of Lake Washington. With a cocktail in hand, you'll pass by drawbridges, seaplanes, and locals enjoying the lake by kayak while the sun sets.

Your 3-hour sunset cruise embarks from the south side of Lake Union, where Seattle's major industries have flourished. Set out for a leisurely cruise aboard the 6-passenger Candére and travel around the lake with your captain, a skilled boat handler and talented bartender who also narrates the history of Seattle and Lake Union as well as the various sights seen along the way.

Relax while you sip a cocktail, or mocktail, and take in the incredible views. See landmarks such as the Space Needle, Gas Works Park, the Fremont Bridge, St. Mark’s Cathedral, and the University of Washington (UW) campus and its football stadium.

Get up close to seaplane take-offs and landings, and observe classic cruisers and modern mega yachts from Westlake to Portage Bay and the Montlake Cut, leading to Lake Washington. Discover the beauty of Seattle and its scenic surroundings, including Mt. Rainier looming in the distance.

Returning to Lake Union, you are likely to see 100-year-old drawbridges open up for sailboats and other vessels. Glide past dozens of floating homes, including the one featured in Sleepless in Seattle and the lake’s oldest, built in 1907. Wave to locals on kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.

After you admire the sunset, you’re returned to shore at South Lake Union.
