Enjoy beautiful views of Seattle from the water on this relaxing cruise along the Ballard Locks, connecting Puget Sound, and Lake Union. Watch a parade of sailboats, tugboats and yachts passing through the complex Seattle locks system, and snap photos of the stunning city skyline and surrounding mountains. You'll also pass the floating houseboat community famously featured in the film 'Sleepless in Seattle.'

Your Seattle locks cruise departs from Pier 56 on the Seattle Central Waterfront. After hopping on the boat, cruise out along the Ballard Locks, formally the Hiram M Chittenden Locks, built in 1911 to provide a link for boats between the salt water of Puget Sound and the fresh water of the Ship Canal, which connects to Lake Union.

Learn about the complex locks system from the live onboard commentary. You'll be treated with views of the stunning Seattle skyline, Elliot Bay, Puget Sound, Lake Union, the surrounding mountains and a parade of sailboats, motorboats, tugboats, barges and yachts passing through the locks. Watch as the locks' water levels are adjusted to allow their safe passage, and spot the fish ladder, built to allow salmon to pass between the fresh water and salt water.

You'll also cruise past the iconic floating houseboat community that was featured in the movie Sleepless in Seattle. Take advantage of great photo opportunities here. When you disembark the cruise, you'll be taken back to Pier 56 by coach.

No ferry required. Small group whale watching tours on the fastest boats in the region with guaranteed whales. See whales or come again for free.

This Anacortes whale watching tour departs from Skyline Marina and cruises out through the San Juan Islands. Experience nature first hand with knowledgeable captains and naturalist guides, who have advanced degrees in biology, geology, and more. Great pride is taken in this fleet of small, high speed vessels with small groups - never carrying more than 30 passengers. The Blackfish fleet are the fastest in the region: the newest vessel the Blackfish III is the first marine ambulance in Washington state.

On this Anacortes tour you will often pass by local landmarks including Cattle Pass Lighthouse, Lime Kiln Lighthouse, Deception Pass Bridge, Patos Island Lighthouse, and even venture as far as Victoria or Vancouver BC if it means seeing Orca. While traveling through the most beautiful scenery of the Pacific Northwest, search for orcas, humpbacks, grays, and more. You may encounter seals, porpoises, sea lions, otters, and more. Birds abound in our region as well. You will most likely see bald eagles, and frequently see common murres, black oystercatchers, rhinoceros auklets, surf scoters, ancient murrelets, and many diverse marine species. Occasionally you will find tufted puffins and even endangered marbled murrelets. Seasonally, hundreds of other bird species migrate through and overwinter in the Salish Sea.

You are guaranteed whale sightings on tours from April through early September. In 2015 there was a 100% sighting success on over 1400 tours. We have the fastest boats so we can get to where the whales are, from Victoria to Vancouver and everywhere in between.

Discover the beauty and joy that is Seattle during this private 3-hour sailing trip in the Puget Sound. The adventure begins as we embark from the Shilshole Bay Marina, preparing to set sail as we round the break water. Enjoy amazing views of the Seattle skyline and the privacy of having the boat to yourself. Throughout the trip you'll have an opportunity to learn how to sail, or just let us do the work and relax.

Your 3-hour tour begins at the Shilshole Bay Marina, where you’ll meet your captain for the day at the gate leading to the dock. Check out the nearby convenience store for any last minute necessities (sunscreen, water or snacks) before boarding the boat and motoring out of the marina.

Marvel at the massive sailboats and yachts nearby or look for harbor seals and birds while heading out to the Sound. The friendly, professional captain will explain the sailing equipment and boat procedure as the boat gets ready to set sail. The direction of the wind will determine which way the boat ultimately goes, but the views are stunning in all directions.

Snap photos of the Seattle skyline, Mt. Rainier and the Olympic Mountains while sailing along. Look for the Space Needle, The Great Wheel, Downtown Seattle and the gigantic Merchant Marine Containerships that travel in and out of the harbor. Wildlife are often present, so look out for seals, sea lions, dolphins, fish and Orca and Humpback whales, which occasionally make an appearance.
