Spend your day kayaking through one of the Pacifc Northwest's most breathtaking scenery, the San Juan Islands. Let our expert naturalist kayak guide assist you in discovering the wonder of our marine wildlife and remote wildlife refuges. San Juan Island is the best place to view Orcas in their natural habitat. Plus see Bald Eagle, Seals, Tide Pools, Kelp Forests, Rugged Coastlines and eat lunch on a remote beach.

Since this company also offers whale watching by boat, they have an excellent network as to the whales whereabouts. Their guides carry marine radios to keep in touch.

Never more than 8 guests (and sometimes less) assures maximum safety, maximum personal attention and an intimate touring experience. You will receive a paddling and safety lesson and be assisted into your kayak from the specially designed finger kayak docks. No wading into the water as the kayak docks allow for easy entry and exit and no time wasted loading and unloading kayaks. San Juan Safaris has the exclusive launching rights from the west side at Roche Harbor.

• Paddling & Safety lesson INCLUDED
• Guest must EASILY slip in and out of the kayak cockpit.
• To enjoy this tour, a guest should be in good condition with plenty of upper body strength. Paddling time is approximately 4.25 hours.
• All equipment is INCLUDED (spray skirt, vest, paddle, kayak & dry bag for your lunch, snack & camera).
• Guest should bring: Lunch, water bottle and snack.
• Gratuity not included. Suggested 10%

Tours depart from Roche Harbor

The center is located on the North West side of San Juan Island at Roche Harbor for the 5 hour tour.

Passengers should meet at this address 15 minutes prior to departure.

Ferries are available from Seattle, to San Juan Island. The ferry (owned by Victoria Clipper) lands in Friday Harbor, which is on the east side of San Juan Island. The ferry ride from Seattle to San Juan Island (Friday Harbor) is approximately 3.5 hours.

In our opinion, you do not need to bring your car across. If you are taking a tour from Roche Harbor, just ask us about the FREE shuttle. There are many ways of getting around San Juan Island. The small town of Friday Harbor is accessible just by walking. It is only about 4 blocks X 4 blocks. There are also bicycles, mopeds and scoot cars for rent right near the ferry landing, plus the shuttle bus.

This tour must be booked at least 48 hours in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12- 24 hours subject to availability.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a minimum $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge for NO SHOWS. No Shows on tour dates are charged 100%. Some specific tours and activities have a higher cancellation fee due to the limited space available.

Recommended for all tours from San Juan Island: Comfortable FLAT shoes, extra layer of warm clothing, hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, water bottle and a snack.

Weather: Tour route or activity may be changed depending on local weather conditions.

Meals, Gratuities and Souvenirs are not included.
