San Juan Safaris is known for keeping groups small, and for staff- who give the guests a great deal of personalized attention.

Spring, summer and fall find magnificent Orca Whales plying the waters of the west side of San Juan Island, Washington. These whales are focused on finding the Pacific runs of salmon that come into Haro Strait mid-April to September. Our sighting rates are over 90%. We guarantee that you will see marine mammals and take home life-long memories. We also see soaring eagles, playful seals, impressive sea lions and seabirds to observe from our boats or kayaks.

Great boats, great scenery & wildlife viewing and great fun!!

Getting Here is Half The Fun

By Ferry:

Ferries are available from Seattle, to San Juan Island. The ferry (owned by Victoria Clipper) lands in Friday Harbor, which is on the east side of San Juan Island. The ferry ride from Seattle to San Juan Island (Friday Harbor) is approximately 3.5 hours.

In our opinion, you do not need to bring your car across. If you are taking a tour from Roche Harbor, just ask us about the FREE shuttle. There are many ways of getting around San Juan Island. The small town of Friday Harbor is accessible just by walking. It is only about 4 blocks X 4 blocks. There are also bicycles, mopeds and scoot cars for rent right near the ferry landing, plus the shuttle bus.

If you cannot make a ferry, or prefer not to, you can also fly from Anacortes (approx. $35 pp) or Bellingham ($45 pp) right to Friday Harbor by using San Juan Airlines. They also now offer the only way to get from San Juan Island to Victoria and back in the same day. Or try: Kenmore Air Float planes are fun! Departing from both Lake Union in Seattle and Lake Washington, Kenmore Air lands at the docks in Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor where our tours depart. Only 45 minutes away. They also fly into Victoria. (800) 543-9595

Directions:
From the North or South of Seattle:

Exit Mercer Street and turn right at the light. Go one block and turn left onto Valley Street. Continue on Valley Street, which turns into Broad Street, until you reach the waterfront at Pier 70. Turn left onto Alaskan Way and continue for 1/2 block. The Victoria Clipper Terminal is on the water at Pier 69, between Pier 70 and the Edgewater Hotel.

From Downtown Seattle:

Head toward the waterfront. Streets that go through are Madison Street and Broad Street. If you are on Madison, turn right (or North) on Alaskan Way. Continue for 1.5 miles. The Victoria Clipper Terminal is on the water at Pier 69, between Pier 70 and the Edgewater Hotel.
